P07 suppressor ready; buy it even if I don't want a suppressor?

I decided that I might "need" a P07, and after a bit of searching was surprised that the suppressor ready model is cheaper than other models.  I don't own a suppressor and will never pay for a tax stamp to get one. 

Should I skip the suppressor version and go for a standard P07?  Any advantage/disadvantages to the suppressor model for use without a suppressor?

Disadvantages to threaded barrel:
Not legal for IDPA CCP
Threaded barrel can cause discomfort if holster does not cover extended barrel

Advantages:
Can probably sell trade threaded barrel for non-threaded and make some money
Can sell suppressor sights if you're going to change them to aftermarket sights

I have an SP-01 Tactical with threaded barrel & supressor height sights and I don't own a can.  Thing is a tack driver.

The only issue is I keep forgetting to take off the thread protector when I go to remove the barrel.  lol

I had a threaded barrel pistol. The protective cap kept unscrewing from the barrel while plinking. I did everything to try and keep it on there that didn't involve grabbing it with a pliers and cinching it down. All of them failed. I got to be so worried about the darn cap that it was affecting my shooting. I finally sold the gun.

Yes, I could have simply unscrewed the cap and put it in a "safe place", but I already got piles of that type stuff, heaped around my basement. It would have been lost in a week.

Yes, an O ring is the answer. I have several pistols with threaded barrels and have O rings on all of them. The thread protectors have never come off.

I agree the o-ring works!  I have never seen an SP-01 T in OD Green, I would love one of those.

Yup a O-ring works.  A sp-01 Tactical in OD green would get my wallet out fast.

I guess it depends on what you are going to do with the P07. I have a regualr OD Green P07 and love it. My P09 is the UG/SR model. I do not currently own supressors, but plan to get into them. So, I have a few SR models already. Plus I actully like the tall night sights they come with.

These models are well suited for a CZ version of the Roland Special, even if you decide to stick with just iron sights.

I had an SP-01 Tactical with the threaded barrel.  I liked the sight picture but I didn't like that the sights were so tall.  In the end, I sold it and bought another P-07. 
I don't think I'll ever own a can so the taller sights were just a pain to me. 

I put a little Teflon tape on the threads and that helped with a little thread interference but I still had to constantly check it.

I bought mine through KY Gun Co. It is a distributor exclusive, like the OD Green P-01 pistols. Not sure but I've heard it was either Lipsey's or TALO. Guess I should have asked CZ-USA at the NRAAM last month.
