TZ 75 Series 88 Springs
« on: June 18, 2019, 05:39:45 PM »
Hello all! I recently acquired my first clone, a transitional AU marked TZ 75 Series 88.

I'm wanting some info on whether or not CZ 75b recoil, extractor, and hammer springs will fit my new baby.

Also if anyone knows the factory recoil spring weight? It seems to have trouble cycling with weaker ammo...

I've already loaded up on Mec-Gar mags, both the small frame witness/baby eagle and CZ 75b mags fit and function flawlessly.

For replacement Springs, I always use Wolff Gun Springs, if possible.  https://www.gunsprings.com/EAA/cID1/mID19/dID100

For the Recoil Spring, your Pistol will use the same Factory 14 lb Spring as the EAA Witness.
Trouble is, there are no reduced Power Recoil Springs listed, and if you are having trouble with weaker ammunition already, I can't see replacing
the Recoil Spring, if that is the case.  Note that Cz75 Recoil Springs are a bit smaller in diameter and will not fit the Tanfoglio Recoil Spring Guide Rod.

Your Pistol will use the older 2.5 inch long Tanfoglio/Witness/Cz75 Hammer Spring, which is also available from Wolff.
You can get a reduced power Hammer Spring, but I recommend using the Factory Standard Spring, to avoid light Hammer strikes.
Still, some enjoy the reduced DA Trigger pull a lighter Hammer Spring will provide.

Your Pistol will use the same Extractor Spring as any Cz75 variant and I recommend fitting an Extra Power Extractor Spring.
In the past, I've only had to clip one coil when fitting one.

Thanks for the info!

I ordered a bunch of extra springs and since Wolff lists several reduced power springs for the full size witness, I went ahead and ordered the "calibration pack."

If they don't fit I'll just chalk it up to the price of learning and load hotter. If they do fit, I'll be sure to report back.

An aside; Do you know of any aftermarket grips that are close enough to be fitted?

You are most Welcome!  :)

An aside; Do you know of any aftermarket grips that are close enough to be fitted?

I'm rather fond of the rubber Hogue Cz75 wrap-around Finger Groove Grips and have them on quite a few of my Cz Clones.

Series 88 Tanfoglio TA90 and Tanfoglio/RIA MAP1,
both with Hogue Cz75 Grips and Mec-Gar Cz75B 19 round Magazines
