First - Hello I am new here and to CZ?s but not to firearms. I was bit by the bug after handling a Shadow 2 that was everything I wished my Gucci Glock and Springers were but couldn?t be . I am slowly migrating over to the DA/SA world for everything and after handling a P01 I really like it. Because I am not one who will leave things alone I was curious about taking a P01 and making it into a Baby Shadow 2. I know this will be expensive. This will however replace at least 3 CC pistols that I dislike for various reasons.

My thoughts are below:
Action Selection/ Upgrade

Before jumping in I am contemplating the Omega vs BD setup with respect to what I can squeeze out of it. I have yet to see them side by side but if both are in decocker form is one recommended over the other when the kitchen sink is thrown at the trigger/internals? Maximizing how smooth and repeatable the trigger - not just how light - is the real goal - think stock Baby Shadow 2-  A CGW or CZC Pro Package is definitely what will help but truly curious if one would edge the other out in smoothness/ consistency

Frame:
I have always carried aggressively textured grips pistols. I know I can throw a set of Lok Bogies but has anyone seen a company that will do Front/Rear strap checkering/ reshape the beaver tail on a P01. Think baby Shadow 2 or 25 LPI off a 1911. It seems the existing texturing would have to be welded and then checkered. I want this to remove DNA or come close.

Slide:
This is my main area I want to improve. Has anyone changed the front and rear serrated areas? Possibly cut over or welded and then re-machined new F/R serrations. Think baby Shadow 2

Finally- when it?s all done I do want to Polycoat or PVD this because I do plan to carry it. I think I have this figured out BUT if you know of a company who does slides and frames then I am all ears.

I get that these mods may seem excessive to some. I am dreaming big on this! I have never been a purist and my goal is to have a scaled down/lightened Shadow 2. I also understand there are enough differences between the Shadow 2 and the P01 to know they will be very different pistols when it?s all said and done.

Worst case scenario is someone says it?s impossible/ cannot be done due to mechanical restrictions.
Also- if someone has seen something like this done or knows of a CZ gunsmith who likes one off projects then please let me know.

So basically what you're wanting is a CZ Shadowline Compact. Unfortunately for you, they were a limited run. They also only come in a safety configuration with no firing pin block. They do come up for sale on the usual used markets every now and then.

As for the regular P-01 vs Omega, the lock work is different. Imega can be swapped between safety and decocker, but the clean up of the trigger will not be as precise as a regular P-01.

If you're dead set on a decocker, you're looking for a CZ Custom Pro-Tek 2. They lighten the slides on them by doing a more aggressive octagon slide cut. Those are also limited editions and usually sell out. You can purchase one from them and ask about them doing the work.

CZ Custom or Cajun Gun Works can both do the things you're asking for though.

Cz custom
Cajun Gun works
Primary machine
Jagerworks
Fire4effect

Are some of the more popular as far as frame/slide alterations go. The only thing I had done  was the Czc custom multi optic cut.  I?d also love to see what aftermarket frame checkering would look like!
