NRA edition Sig 365
« on: July 16, 2019, 04:28:55 PM »
I was at a local gun show Sunday and found a dealer selling a new NRA edition coyote Sig 365 with two 10 round and one 12 round magazine for $559 - 10% for cash. The third magazine and the coyote color closed the deal for me. Tuesday is my range day so I loaded up my range bag and my three 9mm self defense pistols the new 365 a 10 year old Sig 938 and my CZ Rami BD and went shooting. All three small pistols shot well with CZ being the easiest to shoot fast and the old P-938 being the most accurate. What I like about the new 365 is it's trigger is very nice and has a short reset what I don't like is the coyote finish. The finish has started to wear after only being in and out of a leather holster a few times today and it's the same holster I've carried my 938 in for years with no wear.

I would first contact the dealer you got it from, and see what he says if you get no joy from him I would contact Sig.
Can you show us some pictures of the wear?

My over 1 year old SIG P365 with the Nitron finish has worn extremely well.  Meanwhile....my $1500 SIG P229 Legion RX with the 'Legion exclusive' PVD finish has worn through to bare metal from holstering. I think I could apply a more durable finish from a spray can. When I contacted SIG, they just shrugged and said I could send in and pay for it to have a more durable finish applied in their Custom Shop. Good luck and let us know.  -YMMV

I sent a text to the dealer I bought the NRA Sig 365 from telling him about the finish wear. I just got a text back from the selling dealer saying I'm not the only one with a finish issue and he offered to replace it or $50.00 cash. I'm thinking a carry gun is going to get beat up anyway I'll take the cash. The dealer sounds like an honest person he also said he was going to contact Sig about the problem.

Good Move!
Bottom line with $50 more off, you got a great deal!
And if SIG hears from the dealer, it might carry more weight.

The standard Sig Nitron finish is outstanding. As for their other special finishes (coyote and Legion gray) they have been know to not hold up well. Pretty sure they have even quit using the legion PVD gray coating and now use cerakote.
