Competition sights for SP-01 (manual safety)

[I don't like posting the same question on more than one site, but today I'm gonna do it anyway.  I posted the following on another CZ forum several days ago, bumped it once, and have received zero responses.  So, I'm giving up on that, and I beg pardon for this slight breech of etiquette.]



I've been competing lately (USPSA) with a fully Cajunized SP-01 with CGW EZD-40 sights installed on it.  For the most part I like these sights just fine, but the fact that they hang waaaaay over the back of the slide causes a little bit of butt puckering when it's time to manually decock.  If I still had the stock ring hammer on this pistol, I wouldn't even consider such a rear sight, but I have the aftermarket CGW hammer that is very angular and sticks out farther.

I'm considering getting adjustable rear sights, and so far the main contenders are the Dawsons (which I beleve were manufactured according to CGW specs):

Both sights have a rather shallow notch (.080 and .085 respectively) compared to the EZD sights (.140).

Does anyone have experience with either of these rear sights, or do you have any other suggestions?  I'm not totally against fixed sights, but that would require going through the process of finding the right front sight height, and then doing it all again if I decided to change my load significantly.

I recently installed the following sights from Cajun Gun Works:  Dawson Precision Fully Adjustable Rear Sight and Fiber Optic Front Sight.  I have been very pleased.  The rear sight seems t be quite sturdy and the wind age and elevation adjustments are very precise.  I installed them myself and I am not a mechanical wizard.  Be sure to order a starter punch and extra front sight retaining pins if you decide to order from Cajun.  I can’t say enough good things about CGW.  Here is a picture of the sights on my 75B stainless.  I am thinking about ordering a set for my 75B Compact.

Thanks for the reply!  Those look really nice, and I'm glad to hear that you like them.  If I get the adjustable sights, I'm definitely leaning toward the CGW/Dawsons.

Oh, also....  What do you think about the depth of the notch?  .080 would seem very shallow coming from .140, but I'm sure I could get used to it.

I compete in IDPA ESP with my 75B stainless, because it has been converted to SAO be CZC.  I haven’t had any issues with the notch on the rear.  I decided to go with the plain rear sight.  There is plenty of room on either side of the fiber optic front when it is centered in the notch.  Your results may vary depending on what you will be using your pistol for.

I shoot USPSA, and I'm sure it would be fine.  Seems like most rear sight notches have a depth around .100, but there are a few like this Dawson and the Zendle sights I mentioned that are in the .080 range.  I'm sure the manufacturers did their homework, but I was just curious about your impressions.
