New Shadow 2
« on: August 29, 2019, 01:00:55 AM »
Just entered the world of CZ pistols!  Spent some $$$ on my first CZ with the Shadow 2.  Took it to the range today and it was a blast - very easy to shoot this thing accurately.

My only concern at the moment is whether or not this is gouging or poor staking near one of the internal slide pins (see below circled in red)?  I dont remember seeing these markings in this area before shooting it; so, Im wondering if I just overlooked it and this is also found on y’alls Shadows or is this an issue I need to address?

That is not an issue.   The staking is like that normally.

Cheers,
Toby

Thank for the response, Toby.  Just surprised me a bit - as it somewhat appear to be a poor staking job.  Ill keep an eye out to see if that pin walks at all.

It does appear to be a poor staking job.  It looks like one side is deformed but they missed the other side.  The performance shouldn't be affected.  The pin is under the pressure of the extractor spring and thus it shouldn't walk staked or not.  Staking it just ensures no failure.

Cheers,
Toby

Just looked at my brand new one and it has the same staking mark as the bottom but my top one isn’t as harsh either way, it won’t make a difference...it’s just funny that u look at how nice the slide is machined and then u have some ugly looking tool marks but whatever
