Wow, prices have really gone up since I got mine about a year and a half ago. I paid $1249 for the CZ Shadow Orange Australian version, which personally I prefer simply because of it's uniqueness. The main difference is that mine came with the European mandated mags which were limited to 10 rounds, while the newest version sold in the US come with 18 round mags with orange bases.  Other than that it seems the same.

It is a beautiful gun, both to look at and to shoot, and I certainly enjoy mine, but at the new price of $1600 and over, I might consider other models such as the TSO Orange, which can be found for sale in the $1600-1700 range.  As nice as the SP-01 Orange is, the TSO Orange is nicer, unless someone just prefers the SP-01 grip feel over the TSO.

But either way you can't go wrong. Good luck with your decision.

The European version of the SP-01 (including the orange variant) is the same as the one made for the US market.  As others have pointed out, a few places online currently have these in stock for right around $1700. 

The Australian versions is modified to comply with Australian laws. The most notable of these is the longer barrel to comply with Australia's requirement that pistol barrels be at least  120mm in length.  CZ Custom will occasionally have Australian models in stock. They also sell the longer barrel separately.

I was at my LGS yesterday (KyGunCo) and fondled both an Orange and a Shadow Target 2.  I liked the trigger on the Target a lot better, and that's what came home with me.  For reference, the Orange was priced @ $1816.00.

Just to clarify, the CZ Custom SP-01 Shadow Orange SKU is 91764. The CZ SP-01 Shadow Orange SKU is 91165.

I think that is correct!
