Tanfoglio TZ 75 Series 88 Help Needed
« on: October 07, 2019, 01:51:20 AM »
I recently won a Tanfoglio TZ 75 in an auction and, while the gun arrived in good shape, I have no doubt it needs new springs. It came in a box with a 41 AE conversion kit, as well, if that information helps. I'm looking to find a new recoil spring, firing pin spring, hammer spring, etc.

Does anyone know a good place to look, or if any other gun models have compatible parts?

Thanks in advance!

I also have a TZ-75 Series 88. I purchased a 'cone fit' guide rod and 10 lb recoil spring from Henning at henningshop.com. They recommend the 'cone fit' guide rod if you plan to shoot it regularly. It's designed to help protect the frame and allows for the use of a shock buffer if you opt for one. They may be able to help you with the other springs too. Definitely field strip the gun first and check for any damaged or missing parts first then take it to the range. If it functions fine then you're good to go. I've purchased several auction guns and, so far, they've all operated fine without any parts replacement. I tend to opt for a spring and guide rod just for my own piece of mind. I love Tanfoglio pistols, well built and easy to work on.

Some Springs for the older EAA Witness Pistols will interchange.

I usually get my Springs from Wolff Gunsprings.  https://www.gunsprings.com/EAA/WITNESS%20SERIES%20/cID1/mID19/dID100#850
Note that their Recoil Springs come with a Firing Pin Spring.  Use the Standard Factory Weights.

Also, the Hammer Spring should be the older 2.5 inch long Hammer Spring.

Thank you both for the great info! I'll check into both places when I get home tonight!
