FNS pistols/slides to the range day - 10/04/19

One FNS full size with 4" barrel/slide.
One FNS Compact.
One used FNS 4" barrel/slide.
One used FNS 5" barrel/slide.

All .40 S&W.

Winchester 180 grain FMJ.
Winchester 180 grain hollow points.
Federal 180 grain FMJ.

Also took Winchester 165 grain FMJ and Remington 180 grain FMJ but didn't shoot either of them.

Shot the full sized frame with the original slide, the used 4" slide, the used 5" slide.  And also shot the FNS Compact.

All groups were 10 shots, at 10 yds. off hand using both hands.

Best group came from the 5" slide/barrel with the Winchester 180 grain hollow points.  If I can tighten up just a bit (me learning the trigger more/better and doing things right) I'll be happy with those groups.

The used 4" slide/barrel shot an almost equal group with the Winchester 180 grain FMJ ammo.

The best group the Compact shot was with the Winchester 180 grain hollow points.

The Federal 180 grain FMJ ammo gave the worst groups of all in all the barrels/slides/pistols.  I thought that was odd as the Federal 9MM FMJ 115 grain is just super in my CZ 9MM pistols.

The original barrel/slide on the full sized pistol might end up being replaced with the used unit if the groups stay tighter with it.

Best group (5", or FNS long slide set up) with the 180 grain Win. HPs.

Next best group was from the 4" used slide/barrel with the 180 grain Win. FMJ.

This one is the original 4" slide/barrel with the 180 grain Win. FMJ.  Included to shot that even two FNS 4" units can shoot to different points of impact with the same ammo.  It's nearly as good as the other 4" but strung out to the left instead of up and down.

The best group from the FNS Compact.  Winchester 180 grain FMJ.  This group had two "light" rounds.  I was conscious of the first round not sounding right but it recoiled, ejected and cocked the striker (trigger moved forward).  The next shot didn't sound right either but it recoiled even though it failed to completely eject the empty.  I cleared it and went on with the group.

Came home from the range, cleaned up the FNS stuff, took a nap, took the dogs out for some exercise/petting/brushing/treats, realized my "last AR15 build" parts came in and got to fiddling with that, it got dark, I stopped, put the tools/parts away, came inside, cleaned up my wife's M&P PC Shield 9MM, cleaned my P07 (P07 got it's first ever factory ammo through it and it doesn't much care for Winchester 180 grain hollow points) and took a shower.  I was whipped.

I just keep wasting time and money on other brands trying to find/make one shoot like my P07 and P09.  What is wrong with me?

Last AR15 build. ;D ;D ;D

I know, I know.  I think by now, after my 3rd or 4th "last build" that I find it difficult to give it up.
