CZ Custom SDP or ProTek I?
« on: October 29, 2019, 09:05:00 AM »
Hey everyone, I am  new to the forum but have spent some time reading here.

I recently got the CZ bug and am thinking about picking up either the SDP or the protek I from CZ Customs.

About. 700-800$ difference.

1) how much do I want the short reset rigger
2) I don’t plan on using any type of light on this as it will be a AIWB CCW
3) I feel like I really want that ProTek....

Any other thoughts?

Thanks
Amurr

I have a SDP with the short reset added.  I have large hands so the shorter reach option was not required.

I have a Pro-Tek 1 and really like it.i don’t carry it although I do have a AIWB Holster for it that I got when I traded for it.

I had a P01 at one time and really like it as well but it was not upgraded like the SDP.

I think CZ Custom have Pro-Tek 1 and Oak Hill have them right now. They are hard to get these days so if I were you I would snag one as soon as possible.

Thanks for the feedback.  Curious what you do carry?

Have a lot I really want to add to this thread but I will keep it focused to the two choices the OP asked about.......

The SDP is a nice setup.....there isn't really a reason for the short reset trigger (SRT) for a daily carry gun.....I've modified about 35 CZ pistols over the years and will not install a SRT for a carry gun, reason being the trigger pull is too short & light for safety sake.

The Pro-Tek is a pretty extensively modified pistol for sure......but the money asked for all the bells & whistles don't add up anywhere near an equal value in performance. $2K is just crazy money, in fact I feel comfortable saying that a stock CZ (any model) could be made to function superbly for about $100-150 in parts....stuff a novice could do.

Just one persons learn-ed opinion......I even have issues with the money being asked for a SDP but its more "reasonable" ::) in the end.......Bottom line, whatever you do just enjoy it!   :)

I carry a Kahr CW380 as it is very small and light and easy to carry.

There something about the protek 1 that makes me want it way more the  a sdp. Almost reminds me of the unobtanium cz atrox..
