New poster here, I’m all out of ideas for my problem so I’m hoping the community can help.
I am running a CZ SP01 Shadow with an Antreg Zenith 22SL adapter kit, all was working fine until I got a trigger job done. All of a sudden, light strikes on 2 or 3 out of every 10 rounds. I took it back to the gunsmith and asked if they’d put in a lighter main spring, even though I’d told them specifically not to as I knew it could cause problems. They swore they had not touched the main spring, they reamed the chamber a bit and said the problem was solved. It was still just as bad so I ordered a new main spring and changed it myself. Taking out the ‘old’ spring confirmed they lied to me, the spring was much lighter and the light strikes reduced to about 1 in 50 rounds.
This isn’t good enough as I shoot competition and I’m wasting a 4 hour round trip at least 50% of the time because of light strikes. I’ve tried this adapter kit on an unmodified Shadow and it works just fine. On mine I have tried 18, 19 and 20lb main springs with no improvement in reliability. What else might they have done during the trigger job that has reduced the force with which the hammer falls? I’ve done everything I can think of, everything has been cleaned thoroughly, including the channel the firing pin moves through. As far as I can tell, now I’ve changed the main spring, the only difference between my frame and an unmodified frame (that works flawlessly) is a bit of polishing, I’m at the point where I want to go back to the gunsmith and tell them to return it to stock, I assume this will be a new sear, disconnector and trigger bar, I can’t imagine this is the problem but all the evidence points this way. Any ideas?
