We haven't had a product report on the Fiocchi primers. If any of you buyers would care to contribute one after you test that wuld be great.

I’ve used approx 10,000 of them in the past couple of years.  All ran perfect.  They seem to load “softer” in my Dillon press.  That meaning they seat just fine with minimal pressure.  ZERO FTFs.

What is the set off pressure (soft vs. hard) compared to Federal and Winchester, for example?

Somebody more knowledgeable than I would have to answer that question.

Any way you could slap a caliper on the edge of the cup to measure the wall thickness? That would be a interesting measurement.

Right now I only have Remington and Winchester small pistol primers in the safe.

Remington overall diameter of .174”, with .014 wall thickness.
Winchester overall diameter of .175”, with .015 wall thickness.

I suspect the S&B would be about the same as the Remington.
The CCIs appear to be the stiffest loading - but could simply be that outside diameter dimension.

Dimensions admittedly from a cheap Harbor Freight Digital caliper.

My Federal GM100M seem to measure .1755 dia with a cup of 0.015".

For comparison I got .1750 dia and cup of 0.014" for Remington #1-1/2

Good lord, you guys are way too technical for me,, but I love the info,LOL ! Anyways I am working on a new batch of S&B primers and will check them although who knows if they will ever be available again. My order of the Fiocchi will be here Thursday and I can open it up and check those when I get the time. I guess I never noticed much difference with the 550 priming step except when I get a darn Winchester crimped primer pocket! It does seem like the S&Bs seat pretty easy though.

Well we want to know how they might compare seating and size-wise to US-made favorites before buying 12,000 of them. I've seen the deal for several months now, but I don't want to buy even 1000 if they are hard to install, or fall out of the primer pockets on seasoned brass.

You have to have a caliper anyway... you might as well use it.

Got ya Wobbly ! They are supposed to show up Thursday according to my tracking number so with that said and considering I work 2nd shift EST I won't get at them till Friday or the weekend for sure. I'll grab a pack out and compare them with the S&Bs that I'm running now, plus I can check some CCI & Winchesters that I have. I will get on them ASAP for sure and report back, especially if you can get them for under $25 bucks per 1K we are talking darn fair price for a quality primer! I'll be back.  8)

My order of FIOCCHI primers that arrived on Thursday.

They are packed 150 to a pack.  There are 10 packs in a box and 8 boxes in the wood case.

The individual primers are sitting sideways in their black plastic carriers that are captured in the cardboard sleeve.  Like the Federal primers set on their sides in their plastic carriers.

My measurement of an individual primer is 0.174 diameter and 0.119 high.

The primer color is very similar to that of a Winchester small pistol primer.

Hope this is of some help to those having problems in decision making.
