A note about AR15 dot com
« on: October 06, 2019, 06:12:42 AM »
I found out tonight that the original owner of Arf Dot Com, Ed, is fighting colon cancer and may have about 5 months left to life. Arf is HUGE compared to our little corner of the internet, but many fine people there too, and though I have never met the man, he has done fine work with that website. If you're the praying type, Ed Avila and his family could use a few, if you don't mind.
I am not violating any confidences as he said,
Quote from: Ed Avila
I have no problem with the basics of this story being shared publicly...
For those that remember, Ar15.com was recently sold to Brownells, as well.
Thank you.

He will be in my thoughts
Some will die in hot pursuit in fiery auto crashes.
Some will die in hot pursuit while sifting through my ashes.
Some will fall in love with life, and drink it from a fountain, that's pouring like an avalanche coming down the mountain.

Too bad for him, colon cancer is no joke.  I think the arf.com sale proceeds will keep his family well provided for quite sometime.  Hope Brownells will not mess with the way it is, lots of knowledge and industry people on the board.

Get that colonoscopy done, guys over 50!

Prayers said.

CrusherDestroyer, I have never been on AR15.com, so I have no idea of their moderating practices or attitudes, but this thread isn't the place to discuss that. Someone here asked for support for a man battling cancer. Give support or don't, but please leave the gripes about his forum out of this thread.

Sorry.  ARFCOM has some flakey mods.  Stuff happens.  Maybe someday it will be a good site again.

Dude. This is a low blow. The thread is about the owner who is sick and in dire need of prayers (if you’re the praying type) to help him overcome his illness.

Prayers for him. Hopefully he’ll get better.

Agreed. Members here usually show more class than this. Prayers for the man and his family.
