I tried some Underwood 255 gn hardcast rounds, and my 97b likes them just fine. I had a 16 lb recoil spring for this +P load. Shot nice and smooth. Mostly will be carrying this load when bowhunting.

I had a buddy back in the early 80's with an old Colt 1911 match pistol.  He didn't "know" he should be buying 230 grain LRN or FMJ bullets when he started reloading and bought a box of the big/heavy Keith style .45 Colt semi wadcutters and loaded some up with Unique.

His 1911 ate them like candy and shot nice groups with them.  That was the bullet he stuck with over the next few years of shooting.

If your pistol "likes" that load, no reason not to feed it what works.  Works=reliable and accurate.
I just keep wasting time and money on other brands trying to find/make one shoot like my P07 and P09.  What is wrong with me?
