Ammo box for 7.62x25
« on: November 21, 2019, 04:10:33 PM »
Anyone know what size ammo box is for a 7.62x25? Looked around some said 9mm, or .38, some said .380. So now I'm really confused. I don't have any 9mm or .38s to compare it to. Changing out all the cardboard boxes for plastic. My fat fingers tear up the boxes trying to open them. God forbid I open them 2-3+ times because it's trashed after that. I put all my rifle ammo into plastic boxes, my AR ammo, my .40 and .45. The box I got for the .300bo was same size as 6.5 Grendel. So the .300 doesn't fit snugly. The boxes said .223, 5.56, .224, .300, and 6.5, as well as several other calibers. So they're supposed to work. Didn't say how well. Anyway if anyone has an idea I'd appreciate the advice. Thanks

The case diameter is roughly the same as 9mm as is COL. When I had a CZ52 I seem to recall using the same boxes as my 9mm reloads.

Thanks. I was hoping it was close. They sell .380/9mm boxes. So figured they were close enough. But .38 boxes probably too big. Thanks I'll give it a try.

The plastic box I have for 9mm (10x10) is too short for 7.63x25mm Mauser or 7.62x25 Tokarev.

The .38 special boxes are a much better fit.

Yep 9mm box too short. Trading them for .38 boxes. What about .38 super? Or are the supers closer to 10mm. Sad thing is they fit in the box really nice, but the lid won't close. I got .223/5.56 boxes for my 6.5 Grendel and .300BO. The .300s are thinner and shorter so they're loose. I don't think they'll fit in anything any better.I

If all the ammo manufacturers made that little curved cut out over the opening my fat fingers wouldn't tear them up and I wouldn't need plastic boxes to replace them. My son has my .50cal ammo can. Using it has a tool box. I remember when you could get ammo cans for $2-$3. Now everyone wants $20+ for them.

As per Berry's   https://www.berrysmfg.com/category/ammo-boxes-by-caliber
10mm is the same box as 45acp
38 super is the same box as 38/357
So pick your poison !

Same with MTM   https://www.mtmcase-gard.com/common/2019%20Handgun%20Chart%20WEB.pdf
So tell me again how Trump was worse then the 8 years before .... AND what's coming after HIM !

I .45 boxes they're way too big. Going to try the .38s. I know at least the box will close.

I should have realized the boxes you were using are hinged lids. The 9mm boxes I use are slide tops and accommodate 38 Super too.
