Ammo: Gunky gun using Speer Lawman
« on: December 08, 2019, 01:59:58 PM »
I have cleaned the Scorpion after 300 rounds. Speer Lawman 124 g TMJ CF but it really gunked up the bolt and chamber. Tried some in my SP-01 and the same after 50 rounds. Never seen this much carbon build up except with Winchester White Box.

I am going back to S&B 124g. Found a case for $180.

YMMV...

The only thing I like about Speer/Blazer ammo is the price. Not much else.
Let's go Brandon!

My Scorpion gets dirtier than any gun I own, rifle or pistol. Cleaning it always a huge mess, good thing I rarely have to do it. Maybe a couple times a year.

You know, I'd agree.  My Colt AR9s both get pretty dirty, and it took a while to find a good 9mm round that burned clean enough that I could shoot several hundred rounds without having to clean things up. Plus, the AR platform disassembles nicely for cleaning.  The Scorpion not so much!

After spending few K of $$$ for ammo I have found FIOCCHI to be the cleanest one so far.
Blazer Brass and S&B are also acceptable. All other ammo makes my cleaning process more challenging.  ;D

I'll do a search shortly but do they have a clean burning line or just Fiocchi in general?  I have ONE box of Fiocchi in my stash...

I've been using Fiocchi SD line (Stock# 9AP, Stock# 9APB, Stock# 9APHP).
There isn't much to clean after 1000 rounds of these. Sometimes spray of compressed air from can is enough.
