457 Scout
« on: December 14, 2019, 11:37:11 AM »
Well I’ve been wanting a 457 since they were announced...just been waiting for the right deal.

I’ve been wanting a Scout specifically because of the handy size for vehicle use on gophers.

Walked into Capitol Sports in Helena the other day and saw this little guy on the shelf for $297...so it came home with me.

Shot one group with it just to see how close the irons were at 50 yds...about 1.25” group and 1” right 2” low...pretty good for out of the box.  Ammo was the Aguila standard velocity.

I like the bolt throw of the 457.  I like the safety.  Even right out of the box it is pretty smooth.  I’m happy so far.

It will be getting a low powered variable optic in the near future.

I like the sights on the Scouts better than the sights on the American and FS 455's. The front ramp is a nicer set up. Th rest of the rifle looks just as good.

Put a Leupold VX1 rimfire 2-7 and my Sparrow...only took CCI standard velocity today...did decent.

Added the swivel stud when I got home.
