Sight picture
« on: December 27, 2019, 02:50:31 PM »
I posted basically this same question on the 97 board & received a nice response from Eastman saying for those pistols that a 6 o’clock hold works for 1 inch dots at 50 feet. So here goes for the 75 series pistols……6 o’clock or center hold for 50 feet, 25 yards, 50 yards etc ???  What works for you guys for the distances you shoot ? Thanks John

I figure out the appropriate sight picture the first time I shoot any gun.

What I am fishing for is factory setting for sights. I understand after shooting you know then where the pistol shoots. Does anyone know what the factory sights are meant to impact at a given distance with the 75 or 97 series. My luck of the draw for factory sights from CZ has not been spot on at any distance. Looks like adjustable sights are going to be necessary for my 75BSA, 97BD, & 97B. None of the three are correct for windage. That is disappointing to me. Thanks to anyone caring to weigh in ……John

P-01 Omega - Center hold. For distance longer than 70 feet I have to aim higher, which drives me crazy... It's like blind shooting - whole target covered by pistol... :(

( I loved my PPQ - 6 o'clock hold, perfect visibility)

I posed this question to CZ-UB a few years ago.  The finished handguns are intended to use a "dot-on" sight picture with full size and compact guns being zeroed in at 25 meters (27.3 yards), while subcompacts are zeroed in at 15 meters (16.4 yards).  The guns are test fired to check their intended zero points by means of handheld benchrest.  The copy of the test target that accompanies the pistol is intended to demonstrate the test firing results are not inconsistent with the intended zero point.
