P07 grip compared to 75 Compact grip
« on: December 28, 2019, 08:54:17 PM »
I've read through some old posts about the P07 grip, not all but some. My question is, just how close is the feel of the grip of the P07 to the 75 Compact grip with the factory plastic grips. I love the feel of the 75 full size and Compact grip, but I am looking to try a polymer frame. Maybe I just need an excuse to buy a new gun, but I am curious. When the P10 first came out some folks were saying that it was very close to the 75. While the P10 feels good in the hand, it just doesn't seem to me, at least, to come that close. Thanks for any help on this.

Not even close.
75  series (especially compact) is the best sitting in hand grip ever made by CZ.
For me P-07 is close to P-10... but far far away from 75 Compact ergonomics.

... but do not believe my words only... it's mostly personal preferences.
I was very excited about P-10 (I heard a lot of positives about it)... but once I got it in my hand I knew it was not for me. None of polymer CZ pistols sits good in my hand.
I love 75 Compact grip  :)
Original has been fine, but LOK grips are much better (what makes this pistol's grip unbeatable)

To me, the poly framed grip is good.

But, the 75 frames are great.

No comparison for me. The P-07 feel as good as any gun but my full size 75's and Compact PCR feel outstanding.

That is kind of what I thought about the two different grips by just looking at pictures. I wondered if the polymer pistols weren't just being compared to the 75 to get people interested. I haven't had an opportunity to get my hands on the P07, and wasn't going to buy one just to try it out. Yes, I think the P-10 balances well in the hand, but not particularly better than the S&W M&P line, or my Walther P99c. Guess I'll just stay with the old favorites. Thanks for the replies.

Looks we've got close experience... I always compare new guns to PPQ/VP9, SIG P320 and M&P 2.0. CZ75 is out of this comparison (because it's outstanding).
P-10 unfortunately lost the battle with all 3 mentioned grips...

I guess if I just have to buy a new gun it will be a PCR, or a P01. I like the decocker feature.

You can't go wrong with the PCR or P-01. My first CZ was the PCR. I prefer the metal framed grip ergonomics over the polymer. Nothing wrong with the polymer ergonomics. I have three examples of the hammer polymers.

You can't go wrong with either model. I've carried my PCR for over 10 years now and have yet to find anything I like better.

The P07 is better than the compact for shooting.  The compact does NOT have the P01 beavertail.

While the P01 FEELS MUCH BETTER in the gunshop, I am convinced that the P07 beats it in shooting - in locking the gun down in recoil and in getting to the mag release and even in decocking the gun.  Keep in mind that 'feeling comfortable in the hand' in the shop is not the same thing as shooting.  Also, you can stipple the crap out of the P07 backstrap which is the critical part.

Yes but this is based on your personal opinion and experience. I've put north of 10,000 rnds through my PCR and the same amount through the  P-07 and I'll take the PCR over the P-07 any given day. And I don't have to "stipple the crap" out of the backstrap. I carry the PCR daily, the P-07 stays in the nightstand.

These are personal preferences.
I could say P10, P07 are piece of crap...but I don't.
I don't like them, but it doesn't mean they are bad.

I love CZ alu, steel pistols, I hate CZ polymers.
I love PPQ and VP9, these are way better in hand and accuracy... but still... it's my preference...
