New Parts from Dillon

No idea how long these have been out. Just discovered this with my latest order....

New Primer Alarm Design
Dillon has been through at least 2 other designs on the mounting portion of the primer alarm. When the pinch screw was tightened the housing plastic would crack. My son't was so badly cracked that the threaded insert fell out. I went to show him mine as a "good example" and it was cracked too! Anyway, when the new ones arrived today, they have a completely new clamping system and it works much butter.

I thought they would simply supply the housing, but they sent an entire new Primer Alarm Switch (complete)... 1 for him and 1 for me !!

New Ammo Box Design
One of the less expensive Dillon products is their ammo boxes. The price has climbed slightly, but they are still a great deal at 10 boxes for ~$13. Gen 1 boxes were translucent, but the "living hinge" kept giving out. Gen 2 lasted much, much longer but the opaque case meant you had to open every box to see what was inside. The latest Gen 3 (far right) is (thankfully) back to the translucent, but this time assembled from 2 separate parts... so they've given up on the "living hinge" idea. These seem so much more substantial.

The primer alarm was redesigned as part of the new XL750 system. The very nice people at Dillon told me that when I called with questions on the machine prior to ordering.

Actually the new model has a nicer sound. The old one was a grating sound you couldn't ignore. The new one is higher pitched and far more pleasant.

I think that the newer design has been out about late 2016-early 2017.  That is when I bought my 550B new.

They could just have it play La Cucaracha. I might just have to look into that.
