Back in the CZ-P07 Game again
« on: March 15, 2020, 12:34:55 AM »
Evening Ladies and Germs.

Picked up a new production CZ P07 9mm today, longtime CZ owner (since the 90's) and the 2nd P-07 I've owned. My 1st was the Gen 1 in 40S&W. It was the only 40 I had so I sold it during the Newtown panic and kept telling myself I'd snag another someday.

That day was today, 2020 production and I notice a couple of things.

My main question is mags, from what I'm reading the 07 now shares mags with the P-10 (I can't get over CZ doing a striker fired pistol....dat ain't natural  O0 ).

I want to see if anyone has had issues there before I buy more mags. I have a 5 mag per handgun rule so extra mags are a must

Thanks

Hi Don,
The way I understand it your question is whether the mags are going to be reliable in your P07.
I have both a P10C and a P07. I have a bunch of mags that fit them both and I just grab one and go. I've never had a failure out of either of them with about 1000 rounds through them both.

There are no issues with function of any kind. The mag body is pure P-07 but additional catch cuts were made so the mag functions in the the P-10C. The issue is that CZ now uses a base that blends nicely with the frame of the P-10C but leaves a gap at the bottom of the P-07. Some don't mind it and some hate it but it's just the way it is now and no one offers the P-07 only base pads at this point.

That answers my question gents. I guess I'll have to see what the gap feels like myself. I figure I can use the mags that came with the pistol as my "main" mags for the gun, get the P-10 mags and use those as carry spares.

My new P07 came with a couple larger basepads that extend the grip, I can always use those I guess if I don't like the fit of the P10 mags

Thanks again

Keep an eye out for P-07 magazines in .40 at clearance prices.  There is so little demand for them they've been on sale for $10-12 ea.  At that price I picked up a bunch just to get the legacy P-07 base pads which are the same as 9mm mags.

I used the +2 basepads that came with my p-07 on my p-10c mags and the fit and function is just fine.
