Standard P-09 sights
« on: March 12, 2020, 11:52:07 PM »
I have a pre-owned CZ P09.It appears to have 2 dots on rear and 1 dot on front. The sights appear to have been some type of night sight at one point. They are dull now.I was thinking about putting a Dawson thin front sight and leave the rear sight and blacken the 2 dots on the rear.Would there be any advantage to getting a thinner front sight.

The main idea to change front is OK. Thinner? Yes and no... it depends what is the purpose of the handgun. I like thinner front, it makes the sight picture better for me, especially for a longer distance.
I'm defensive shooter, and fiber sight doesn't work well with holster for me. Tritium doesn't have really thin fronts...

Home defense, no holster, range, competition... So fiber should work for you better.
However even home defense situation doesn't really need great sights you have find out if fiber would work at your range.
My range (indoor) doesn't have sufficient light to make the fiber glow as suppose to.

Anyway, Dawson Thin fiber front sight with blackened rear dots should be a good choice.
