Scorpion evo 3 screw with locktite removal
« on: March 21, 2020, 01:13:38 PM »
I was attempting to change the trigger spring when I partially stripped the hex screw head that hold the metal trigger assembly in the plastic lower unit.

The screw is surprisingly well stuck and I am guessing that it was installed with red loc tite.  I can still get a little “purchase” with the wrench and do not want to push it further as I think I might be able to remove it if I defeat the thread locker.  Normally I would use heat but there is plastic all around it.

Is there a solvent or another trick I can use?

I do not have a local gunsmith and the one I use generally has a two month turn around.

Fortunately at this point, there is no functionality effect, just a heavy trigger.

I personally don't know anything about this particular gun, but in the past have had success with using a soldering iron.
make sure the iron is good and hot and touch it on the screw. That should heat up the screw only and maybe part  surrounding screw and should come loose. Heated a little at a time.
Good luck

Some of these may be welded and may need to be drilled out.
