CGW work ticket

I just got onto the CGW schedule this morning for the Pro Package action work on my P75D PCR. It seems really likely that this pistol will be used as my primary EDC.

One question is if there is any additional work I should consider having done at the same time? As I mentioned, the pistol will be used for EDC and related training with no plans for competition. My primary interest is in getting a smoother and lighter double action pull, along with shortening the reach to the trigger in double action mode to accommodate my (apparently?) short fingers. I also have a pair of thin grips on the way to help shorten the reach. I would like to eliminate the possible need for an expensive return trip to CGW.

Is their any advantage to getting the race hammer over the ring hammer? Just from looking at the two hammer profiles, it would seem that the ring hammer might be a little easier to carry with less poking into my ribs while carrying.

I have already replaced the sights as the factory sights were too small for me to pick quickly and easily.

How about it? Is there anything else I should consider having done at this point?

   The Race and Ring Hammers are the same just different styles. The ring shape makes more sense for carry in my mind.

The PCR comes factory with a Lanyard Loop Main Spring Plug, some folks prefer to swap it out with a flat one.

   The 10X replacement Barrel Bushing is an option. It can offer a more consistent lock up and some mechanical accuracy improvement depending on your factory bushing. From my perspective it is more of a target pistol upgrade but some will likely disagree on the subject.

   Let it be known that you have some influence on your Pro Package build Trigger weights. You can request DA/SA Trigger weights within a range and CGW can aim for them. This should come up when they call you to discuss your build before they start the work.

I installed the Pro Package in all my CZ's including my 2 PCR's. You can't go wrong in that choice. I prefer the ring hammer over the race style simply because I like the smooth rounded spur to the sharp spur on the race style. I carry right side owb at the 4-5 position and with a quality holster that has a body shield there's no chance the hammer can poke me. I can carry the PCR for 12 hours at a stretch comfortably.
Grips are a personal choice and it can be trial and error. I  have medium hands and I tried some slim grips at one point and despised them. They completely changed the perfect CZ ergos that I liked so well. I then tried a set of LOK palm swell grips which are supposed to mimic the factory CZ grip and liked those only marginally better. I tried factory plastic grips early on and even a set of nice factory wood grips with dismal results. I came full circle back to the factory rubber grips and I have found I like them far and away better than anything else. You'll just have to see how you like the gun after the CGW upgrades and your grip choice and work from there. Maybe you'll find the feel to be just what you want.

I'd vote for getting it hard chromed while your at it.  It's not practical but it will make it look good for a long time.

i have pro packages in the p-01 and the sp-01 and i am at approx. 3 lbs and 7 lbs with trigger weights in both pistols . i put the first pro pkg in my p-01 nearly 10 yrs ago and was looking for lighter single and double trigger pulls and it was my only CZ. Two yrs ago i purchased an sp-01 and put a pro pkg in that to match the p-01. Now i have the two pistols and i pretty much carry the p-01 in a high noon slide guard holster.  I then installed a bit heavier lifter block spring to add a tad bit more weight to the trigger weight for carrying. I choose the ring hammers in both of them, the p-01 is blued because i had the stock trigger in it at the time , however after installing the old style 85 triggers in satin stainless in both guns i did get the ring hammer for the p-01 in stainless. Left the blued ring hammer in the p-01. one other note to consider is crowning the barrel and having it polished to match the trigger and hammers, also billet mag end caps are available that accent the pkg if that is of interest to you. also the CGW floating trigger pin is a nice item to have installed.

Considering getting a PCR with the pro package and was wondering about rear sight options to move the sight all the way back to the rear of the slide. Options?

Best bet for that style sight is CZ Custom. They have a a few options like that.
