Accushadow 2 versus shadow 2 orange help
« on: April 18, 2020, 06:21:28 PM »
Hi everyone.  New to CZs and was trying to figure out the difference between the 2. It’s my understanding that the bushing sizes are different but both bushings are not threaded. One better than the other?  My local gun shop has both and I can get either one for about the same price (making me a deal on the accushadow 2 which listed $300 more than the shadow 2 orange). I don’t know much about bushing differences, but am looking for accuracy and the best trigger. I like the looks of the orange, but the accushadow 2 seemed to have a slightly easier trigger pull. Am I better off with the accushadow 2 overall versus the shadow 2 orange if they are the same price?  I am trying to figure out why the accushadow 2 is higher priced than the shadow 2 orange I guess. Thanks for helping a newbie to CZ!

I have a Shadow 2 Orange, and it's an incredible handgun.  The bushing fit is ~ .001 over the barrel diameter. The SA trigger is outstanding and has zero creep in the 2lb. range.  I have no experience with the CZC accu-shadow, but I'm sure the accu-shadow has a better DA pull, since the S2 Orange DA pull is at least 8lbs, but it does include two reduced weight mainsprings which I have not tried yet.  The hand fitted barrel to slide and and slide to frame fit is outstanding on mine.

I don't believe the Accushadow 2 has a hand fit barrel/slide/frame. So the Orange has that going for it.
Also, everything the Accu has that the Orange doesn't have, could be added later. Accuracy wise, they should be very close as long as you find the right ammo for each one.

I also opted for the Orange over the Accushadow because I found a link or two here on the BE forums where an Accushadow 2 slide cracked near the muzzle.

Thanks for the replies. While we are talking about the shadow 2 orange, any thoughts on a low recoil factory bullet recommendation?

I go for the heaviest bullets in any given caliber, I feel the recoil is less.  I also shoot suppressed a lot so in 9mm that really makes me lean towards heavy subsonics (147 and 158) even more.

When I work through my last few thousand 115/124s that'll be the end of supersonic 9mm for me, I've only been buying subsonic 147s and 158s for a while now.

I have some experience with both.  Both guns will shoot about an inch group at 25 yards with a red dot.  The truth is that an inch at 25 is all I'm capable of shooting rested, either gun might do better with a better shooter and ammo.  The TSO is easier to shoot, has a slightly better trigger.  The Accu Shadow would probably be a better multi use firearm.  You can not go wrong with either gun. I misread the request, have zero experience with the Shadow 2 orange.  Would highly recommend the TSO.

I only have had experience with the Accu Shadow 2.  The biggest gripe with the ACCU was the front sight had to be fixed. It would come loose after shooting since there was no roll pin to hold it in place because of the bushing. I ended up sending it off to CZC to fix it which they did.

So many choices, thankfully I'm pretty confident that you can't make a bad choice with these premium CZs.
