P-07 DUTY slide on a 2nd gen p-07

Hi all, new owner of a 2nd gen p-07 here with plans to mill the slide for an optic. I got a spare
used p-07 DUTY slide (1st gen) from eBay, to be able to carry the gun daily while my slide is being milled, but the 2nd gen recoil spring/guide rod doesn’t fit into the DUTY slide’s hole.

Anyone know where I can find a DUTY recoil spring?
What are my options? Could I file down the plastic guide rod end piece smaller and buy a new guide rod/spring for when my milled slide comes back?

You can order a guide rod and spring from CZ USA, CGW, or CZ Custom.

You can uncapture it and it will work. Glock 19/23 gen 3 and under guide rods work also not the newer gen 4 doubled spring type.

I saw that out there on Ebay.  It looked like it had seen a lot of use.

I have their guide rod assembly for the gen 2 model and it runs fine in my gun.

However, since I prefer a solid steel guide rod and uncaptured spring, if I were you I'd order a spring and guide rod from CGW.

I had a feeling someone on here had seen that slide!  The slide is pretty nice actually - just had ugly tape on it which seemed to have protected it well.

I simply uncaptured the guide rod by filing the cap down til it was flush with the diameter of the rod and it seems to work alright. I think I'll just buy a spare captured guide rod for when my original slide comes back and to have a spare for when the current one needs replacing.
