Shadow 2 Trigger Help after RRK
« on: February 15, 2020, 06:26:02 PM »
Hey all, this is my first CZ. Mainly lust after 1911’s.

I traded into a Shadow 2 some time back. It has been quite enjoyable on the range.

I’ve been told it has the CGW Reach Reduction Kit installed. This simply places the trigger much further back than my trigger finger appreciates

Is there a trigger I can install that supports the RRK but places the trigger further forward? Perhaps a straight trigger?

Thanks in advance!

You can buy and install the CZ Custom DA/SA flat trigger. It’s the flat trigger on the last picture in your post. It works on both the SP01 and shadow2. In fact, it works on CZ 75 based guns except for the Czechmate, TS/TSO and Omega trigger systems.

From CZ Customs website:
“Non-Firing Pin Block guns ( SP01 Shadow, Shadow 2, Bull Shadow, A01 )  will need SHORT DA disconnector #10480,

*some fitting for proper timing maybe needed in different guns due to tolerances”.

I agree with George16's post above. If you wish to retain the Double Action, CZ Customs new flat trigger looks like your best bet for increasing the Single Action pull length.

One thing to be aware of is that this trigger breaks at an angle in SA. It dose not present straight like a Single Action Only flat trigger in SA. This may require some trigger time to adjust to.

CZC Straight DA / SA Trigger
(out of stock at the moment)

Will work for CZ pics! (including but not limited to all CZ clones)

Thanks guys.

The flat trigger is back in stock so I ordered one. It says it will need the short disconnector.

But I think the CGW kit has a different disconnector with it. So I’ll have to see how the CZ Custom Trigger fits with the CGW kit.

Might be a bit of a cluster.

The way the i understand it, both short reach and RRK discos should work with the CZC flat DA/SA trigger. Hand fighting may be required in some cases due to the differences in one pistol to the next.

The flat trigger worked with the Cajun rrk on my shadow 2 but I needed to fit both the inside of the downward leg and the straight edge of the triangle piece. Sorry, don’t know right words for those pieces of disconnector. Used instructions on czcustom site for their disconnector. Took a good bit of filing on long leg and I finally switched to a dremel, very carefully, and went back to file for finish. The short edge was just done w file.

Thanks everyone for their input. I’ll keep this thread updated when I change triggers.

Installed the new flat trigger. All went smoothly and it seems to operate well with the disconnector that is in the gun, RRK.

Is there something I can do to confirm proper disconnector function? Or is it confirmed if safety and SA/DA operate properly?

Not sure I love the angle it puts the trigger but it is indeed a longer reach.

If the SA and DA functioned and reset properly you should be good to go. I would live fire test it as well.

I just shot my friends S2 with the Da Sa flat trigger installed. It’s an amazing improvement

I finished with my SAO Shadow 2 project last weekend. It is unreal the difference it made. Trigger pull from the center of the trigger is 2 lbs 3 oz on average. The reset is almost non existent, and with the over travel and take-up adjustments, there is barely any play at all with just under 1/8 inch total travel. I am one happy camper!

Parts used: 6sao trigger, cgw reduced power trigger spring, adjustable billet sear, race hammer w/ H-pin, ultra light hammer spring kit with extended firing pin, sear spacer, and floating trigger pin. Of course a proper polishing since it was apart and removed the disconnector. Here are some pics:
