Shadow 2 Orange vs std Shadow 2
« on: May 11, 2020, 01:10:00 PM »
After being somewhat disappointed with the frame to slide fit of my S2 SA I'm wondering if maybe I should have gone for the S2 Orange instead.  For those that own both, is the S2 Orange noticeably tighter than a regular S2?  More accurate?  How about the Orange trigger vs the standard S2 trigger?  Any other differences?  I'm trying to decide if the Orange is worth the big jump in price.

I have two Shadow 2's and a Shadow 2 Orange. My S2's are pretty tight (no rattle), and the S2O is almost too tight. The S2O trigger is just a tad better in single action than the standard S2's, and the double action is pretty much the same on both models IMO, but the S2O does come with extra main springs, and that would change/lighten the DA pull.  I hardly ever shoot in DA, so that was not that important to me.

I don't think the average range shooter will notice that much of an accuracy difference.  For me, all three have outstanding accuracy.  I bought the S2's first, and then later added the S2O. I had to have the best S2, so that meant an extra $700 over the standard S2.  In hindsight, the S2O is fantastic, but the extra $700 might be better put to use in more ammo. The S2O is a 10; I would have to give my other S2's an 8.5-9.0.

I don't have an orange...but my S2 SA is rock solid and really can't imagine getting it much more accurate...has improved my targets several fold ... and they weren't that bad to start... ;-)

Does the newer S2 Orange come with a slide that isn't drilled for the front sight pin?  When did they make the change?  If I get one, I'd like it not to have the hole since it serves no purpose on the Orange.

The late 2019 models did not have that sight hole.  Mine doesn't have it and the serial number begins with the letter D.

Which 3 CZs are you going to trade for it? >:(

I certainly will not trade my Czechmate for a S2O.
