CAn the EVO3S1 Be converted to S2?

I have an S1 and was wondering if it could be converted to an S2 model? Is the receiver the same, just a shortened barrel and shroud?

I don't particularly understand the question. Do you me are parts interchangeable? Then yes. I mean, until they actually released the micro, I kept saying I didn't understand why people didn't just buy the s1 & make their own micro/k version. Because plenty of people did just that. Now that the s2 is available, making your own is still possible, but not really practical. You'll spend more than the ~ $250 difference in MSRP converting it. Better to sell your s1 & buy a s2 at this point.

I have an S1 I bought used for cheap and was just thinking it would still be cheaper and less trouble than trying to sell the S1. Is HB industries the only place offering a conversion?

The "cheapest" way would probably be to find a gunsmith that can chop the barrel for you. Then the brace & forend options are the same as anything. You can get the same pieces as the s2, or just research what's best for you.

See, that's my point. The forend in that kit is $50. From HB even. I guarantee you can find a gunsmith that can chop your barrel locally for less than $200. Then you still have to get a brace. But if thats what you want, I'm not here to tell you not to.
