Accuracy Between 457 Lux and Jaugar in .22cal
« on: June 02, 2020, 01:48:39 PM »
I am interested in either a CZ 457 Lux  w/ 24.8" barrel or a CZ 457 Jaguar w/  28.625" barrel length.
My question is which would be more accurate using iron sights with a max range of 100yds on paper or steel targets. I understand that I would have to determine which bullet each likes the best, unless you can recommend  a "better" one for each rifle in .22cal

Many thanks for your advice.

With open sights a longer barrel or more distance between the front and rear sight are considered to be more accurate to shoot if the rifles were of equal accuracy. Truthfully between the two rifles it would depend more on the individual shooting and eye sight. If your serious about staying with irons consider adding a peep sight.

Thanks David. I have had a peep sight on a gun by Skinner in the past and loved it. Ya at 74 might sight is still pretty good after cataract surgery, on both all most 20/20. Thanks for the perspective think I am leaning for the Jaguar and peep sights as most will be from the bench.
Hope it is not to hard to add them, will have to search the Web site to see if folks have done it and how.
Thanks again David

Williams makes a peep for the CZ 452//453/455 series rifles. I don't know if they work with the 457 rifles. Nothing wrong with the Skinner sights either. The photo is a 452 Full Stock with the Williams.
