Safety detent plunger

The right hand side safety detent plunger sticks out causing my right hand side safety difficulty putting it back together. I have to physically push the plunged back from the inside with a pick to pusb the safety back in to place. Is this normal?

Yup. It's normal. The detent keeps the safety from walking out as you shoot.
