Hey ScoobyDo, I bought a Henning mount for my S2 to use on it's Cadet slide (not the 9mm slide). The Cadet slide has a higher "crown" to it, so although the dovetail is the same, the mount won't fit without a little grind & file. Fortunately, the Cadet slide - being aluminum - is easy to work.  I did it myself, and it came out great.  I'll try to include a picture of it...

Apologies for the long delay in getting the pictures posted - looks like it worked. My wife had a medical emergency that took a little while to get everything back to normal., so I wasn't logging in.

I'm using the Henning Group red dot mount in my rear dovetail.  It sits plenty low enough, is only $70, and doesn't permanently modify the slide.

Also, it's made of steel but lightweight and the part that sits in the dovetail isn't any wider than the dovetail (with some other brands, the part that sits in the dovetail is as wide as the part the red dot sits on).

Ignore the white goop in the dovetail, I used white lithium grease to ease installation of the mount and it's a bear to get it all out.

.

I’m gonna have to get me one of those!

Red Dots have made a world of difference for me.  Specifically, I can now wear my prescription glasses which not only fix a slight astigmatism but also allow me to see the target more clearly at distance.  This has allowed me to be much more precise at 10 yards and beyond.

Here’s my Shadow 2 (milled by CZC).

Silhouette, thank you so much for posting the pictures!   I hope your wife is doing better.

What did you use to grind & file?

I made a crude jig out of steel bar and clamped it to the sides of the slide, to prevent any mistakes/slipping & to limit the depth of the initial grind, then gently hit the slide with an angle grinder, just to take it down a bit. I  then removed the clamp/jig, and slowly worked it with a flat metal file, testing often to see when the mount would clear, so I would'nt remove too much. This worked well, as the mount fit firmly in place  when I was done filing. I hit that shiny spot with a little black paint before final attachment of the Henning mount with provided set screw & put a little blue loctite on the set screw and tightened it down, then mounted the Venom red dot.
