452 Ultra Lux Super Exclusive
« on: September 25, 2020, 07:10:32 PM »
Hello board,
Picked up my first CZ rifle, one I've been wanting for some years, the 452 UL Super Exclusive.
And I love it!

I fear I may exhaust my welcome here with too may questions re this fine gun..

Which ammo do you find to be the most accurate in this rifle? I've only fired CCI SV .22 through mine so far.  Is HV OK?

Where can I get additional magazines?

Thanks in advance.

Congratulations on purchasing a fine rifle.

My 452 UltraLux shoots CCI-SV very well, averaging a little over a 1/2" at 50 yards with good consistency.  So far it's shot the best with the older Wolf ME, the same as SK Rifle Match, which can obliterate the x rings on an A23-5 target at 50, with at least a couple 5 shot groups measuring about 1/4" on the same target.  (Vintage Brno rear peep/front globe, front rest and rear bag, new eyeglasses prescription).  Of course the thing to do is try a variety of different ammo, from different lots, to find out what your gun likes.

people can tell you what works well for them, but based on the nature of the .22 LR beast, you'll have to experiment to find exactly what works best for you

My experience (and setup) sounds much like trblshtr's.  Wolf and SK work great (Wolf slightly better).  They are followed very closely by Eley Sport.  So closely as for me not to matter, so I buy it by the brick.  CCI-SV is fine, but quite noticeably not as good.  Surprisingly, bulk Remington Golden Bullets shoot as good or better than the CCI-SV.  Just every now and then expect a wild flier.  But as eastman said, you really need try a bunch of different ones to see what it likes.

Thank you, gentlemen. I have a bit of Wolf, will try that next.
At the moment getting .22 ammo here in Oregon is next to impossible. I'm glad I've socked away what I have.

My first/only walkabout with the rifle was extremely pleasant. I was actually surprised I could hit the casual targets I found to shoot at as easily as I did. The rifle seems well fitted to me and the trigger not terrible, though I have purchased a lighter spring and will play with that a bit. I intend to never sell this one

I have owned my 452 UL for maybe 5 yrs.  Love it.  Very accurate with iron sights.  I do run an 18x scope on it.  I recently shot a rimfire competition with it and scored 447 out of 500.  I have shot everything through it and find that SK Std +, Lapua Center X, and new to me, SK Long Distance are the most accurate.  Just started with the Long Distance and it is accurate with near zero flyers.  Magazines are available everywhere.  I don't get here often, good luck with your beauty.
