I have a P-10C suppressor ready that is dropping magazines while shooting. The odd thing is it almost always happens when shooting suppressed and with 115 gr supersonic ammo. This has occurred now with 3 different magazines, and 3 different shooters. Until today it had only happened when suppressed and with supersonic ammo. Today it did it a couple times with 147 gr subsonic and once while un suppressed. You can just about count on it happening once or twice per magazine when suppressed with 115 gr ammo. In my searching I have been unable to find any account of similar issues.
This particular gun has the earlier ambidextrous mag release, and I understand this cannot be retrofitted to the reversible type. I am certain that I am not touching the release while shooting. It has happened with the gun clean and when dirty. I have experienced no other issues, and it had 550 rounds through it (bought new 3 months ago).
The only thing I can come up with is the nose of a bullet moving forward under recoil and hitting the magazine catch through the slot in the magazine. I have no idea how this could be fixed or why it would happen so often when suppressed.
Any ideas? I don't really want to send it in, but as-is I don't trust the gun.
