IWI Polymer Jericho and Jericho Enhanced PROBLEMS !!!!!!!!
« on: November 20, 2020, 11:03:16 AM »
I like the all steel Jericho and have one. Great gun. I have been looking at the Jericho polymer pistols for 6 months now and handled them 3 different times. All of them have trouble seating the magazines. You have to slam it into place. I am not talking about "booming" it into place , I mean "SLAMMING" it into place. It seems that the polymer isn't molded correctly or whatever you call it . On a steel gun you'd say it wasn't "machined" correctly. All three of the ones I handled would not seat the mags correctly. I hate it since it is the best looking and one of the best shooting polymer pistols out there in my opinion. So then I seen and handled the Jericho Polymer "enhanced" . The magazine on it will seat but has a huge gap between the bottom of the mag plate and the pistol grip. So big that it wiggles terribly. The gap is very bad and huge . Not just one but a few others that I held. I've always liked IWI and IMI but they have really gone down hill in my opinion and experience here lately.

I had a new Jericho polymer enhanced and had no magazine insertion issues and all mags functioned properly. I sold it so I can’t check it again, but I don’t recall a gap between mag and frame either.

P.S., I had the 4.4 inch version and only sold it so I can buy the 3.8 inch version at a later date.

I would suspect the problem is with the magazine not the pistol. Take a look at the base pad. Assuming it is polymer there is probably.100” or so above the two slots that the mag slides into. If this is the case then you can sand the top down what ever is necessary to gat a good, snug, fit that will not require slamming. I would not use coarser than 150 grit sandpaper maybe even 220. Find a screw that fits the hole that the latch plate locks into and a nut to fit. This will give you a handle to hold the base so you can move it back and forth across the sandpaper. Place the sandpaper on a flat surface and try to apply equal pressure all over the base.
