Jericho Polymer pistols : Any negatives ?
« on: October 11, 2020, 09:47:48 PM »
I have the full steel Jericho but how are the Polymer Jerichos ? Are they just as reliable ? Is the polymer well made and durable ? Any information is appreciated .  I am talking about the regular or first generation polymer Jerichos , not the newer "Enhanced" Jerichos with the newer features.

I have a 2015 Jericho polymer 9mm when they first reintroduced them into the US. I bought it brand new and haven’t had any issues with the polymer itself or reliability. I’ve experienced zero failures from the gun out of hundreds of rounds of various 9mm brands, weights and prices. My only complaint is the bump at the bottom rear of the grip is a little uncomfortable but I can look past it.

I have narrowed my decision down to the polymer Jericho or the Sarsilmaz CM9 Gen 2 . The Sarsilmaz seems almost the same but it costs almost $200 less than the Jericho.

I actually own the CM9 also. I like the CM9 grip over the Jericho. I’ve also had zero failures from the CM9 out of roughly 200-300 rounds of various 9mm ammo. As far as my two examples are concerned, the build quality, i.e. fit/finish/materials, in the Jericho seems better over the CM9. I know the CM9 is +P rated but not 100% sure if the Jericho is but I believe it is. If budget is a major deciding factor then I’d lean toward the CM9. The good thing is either of these guns will accept MecGar 17 & 19 round mags and lock box the slide back when empty. If you are able to handle and shoot both guns before buying then definitely do that. I don’t know what your hand and grip situation is so that could affect your decision as well. I hope this helped more than confused you. ;D

Oh, and the CM9 is currently my home defense gun with a fully loaded MecGar 19rd mag in it. Also, I liked the Turkish Sarsilmaz CM9 enough that I took a deeper look at the SAR9 and purchased it as a truck gun.

Thanks very much for that information. I think I'm going with the IWI Jericho. It's a polymer dream gun of mine and I guess I should stick with it. They are discontinued and there's one  new in box at a store near me. I dont by guns online so I better grab this one while I can in person.

I don’t blame you a bit. I’ve always loved the look of the Jericho. 8) I sold my 4.4” Jericho Enhanced but eventually I’ll get the 3.8” Jericho Enhanced. I like the semi-compact versions better.

This is it.  They're overpriced relative to comparable pistols.  I would like to have one, but for the same money I always go with something that I perceive to be a cut above.  I do have a semicompact with a steel frame.  It's a great pistol, so I would expect no less from the polymer frame version.

I joined this forum because I just purchased a Jericho 2.  Fit and finish are exceptional on mine.
