Well, let me help you with that!
« on: November 21, 2020, 04:43:46 PM »
One of my staff came to me this morning and asked if I knew about the little round things that go in the back of the case, and I asked, "Primers?" He said, yeah, I have a bunch of those and no idea what to do with them. I asked what size and he shrugs, "I was told 9mm."
No, I did not tell him I would graciously dispose of his surplus junk free of charge - I told him that if he DOES have a quantity of small pistol primers that they are worth some cahnge right now, and if he gets me a number and maker, I might make a fair market offer.
Don't think I wasn't tempted....

A 9mm primer would be huge! Boooom! ;D

I wonder what the biggest primer ever manufactured was.
Will work for CZ pics! (including but not limited to all CZ clones)

Out of curiosity I did an internet search for small pistol primers and found a place with plenty in stock, but the price seemed kind of high.  After a closer look I realized those were Australian dollars and the place was in Queensland!  I doubt they can ship to the U.S. even if it were affordable (and it wouldn't be).

Even after allowing for the exchange rate those Federal primers were just under 5 cents each, so I guess we're lucky in that regard when they can be had.  I'm not ready to get in a bidding war for them, just keeping an eye on my stock and seeing it getting a bit lower each month.

I bet it's at least another year before we see inventory of primers build up.   :-\

I hope those primers go to a person in need, but I guess that's many of us!

I understand that the English now vacation in the Czech Republic, and while there get their dental work done. The money they save on dentistry pays for the entire vacation.

I could easily see a new "Come to Australia" travel campaign. Tour Australia and then buy some primers at the Duty Free shop. Take home some Aussy primers and pay for a good part of your vacation.

That would make a vacation in Oz a "prime" idea, mate!
