Oddball clones anyone?
« on: September 18, 2022, 11:39:07 PM »
I came to know of CZ many years ago by the way of Star. I purchased a rare Star Megastar in 45acp. I bought it brand new/old stock from a local gun store in Denver. He had like 5 of each (45acp & 10mm). I wish I had bought one of each. These things are built like tanks which really help control recoil and for their time we’re pretty high capacity (12+1 in 45 & 14+1 in 10mm). My son and son in law love to poke fun at it (Glock fan boys) but can never seem to outshot me with their Glocks (Austrian for Hi Point) and never want to take my challenge of letting them hit my Megastar with their Glocks 10 times then letting me hit their Glocks with my Megastar 10 times after which we’ll see who’s still shoots!

I’ll try to post some pics tomorrow.

Here's the Video:

Way back when Star was still in business, I did give them serious consideration, particularly the 30M.
Lack of Magazines available and the Magazine disconnect safety pretty much shoved me in the Tanfoglio direction.

I did have an Astra A80 .45 that I was well fond of, but I traded it off for a SigArms P220 .45, which was also traded off to fund my FN FAL project.
I do wish I still had that Astra A80.

Yea for the most part they are/were solid built pistols. ESPECIALLY the Megastar! Just really wish I would’ve bought one in 10mm too!
