P-10 S and New Sights Recommendation
« on: January 19, 2021, 11:48:33 AM »
Hi,

I am pretty new to handguns so pardon the newbie questions.

I really dislike the sights on my P-10 S, particularly the all-black rear sight and I was hoping someone could recommend a replacement. I am perfectly fine with the typical "two white dots" that Glocks have. I'm also not a big fan of the front sight so I am might as well replace that as well. Any recommendations?

Also, how easy is it for me to replace these sights? Do I need any kind of special tools to remove/replace the sights?

Thanks very much.

I replaced my rear sight with a red dot on a dovetail mount, so I had to remove the rear sight on my P10-C.  After loosening the set screw, I used a bench vise and arranged wood blocks and a steel punch to press the sight out from right to left.  I wrapped the slide with electrical tape to keep from marring it and it came out fine.  As I understand it, the front sight is hard to get out without damaging it, so that makes it a bit easier because you don't have to try to save it.  I've heard that hooking the sight on an edge and whacking the slide with a hammer and wooden block (remove the barrel first) works!   Sometimes glue is used when installing sights, so heat would help loosen a bond in that case.

Most people seem to speak well of sights from Dawson Precision: https://dawsonprecision.com/sights/cz-sights/?_bc_fsnf=1&model=P10C
They provide the tools needed as well as instructions.

I'm not absolutely certain that the P10-S and the P10-C use the same sights, but I think they do.

Hello. I have the p10s as well with the standard cz 3 dot glow in dark sights,  not a huge fan of the 3 dot anymore. If interested in possibly swapping let me know. Thx.
