CZ-82 Another Refinish Project

That bluing really is holding up well!  They both look great.

Where did you get the cool grip bolts on the black CZ?

Ive got the same project coming up maybe this winter. The 82 I will be doing is one that someone already stripped and tried to re-blue. It just doesnt look as good as the examples in this thread. Maybe some nice grips such as the ones pictured, or I also read about sanding down the original grips that had decent looking results. My distraction is deciding which way to go with the finish, slow rust blue or regular, perhaps even the duracoat spray. I have plenty of time to research, probably wont get started until this next spring some time. I have been told that Brownells cold blue is better that Birchwood Casey's, but wasnt shown any examples by the gunsmith who told me so.

I apologize if you said so and I missed it, but what grips are those?

Turned out great!  I did the same thing to my CZ-82 in the summer of 2019 and the cold blue has held up very well!

I loves these guns blued with wood grips.

a couple of other ideas for bluing cz 82s. I use a heat gun and get the parts very hot justg prior to appling the bluing does seem to help. I used Oxphy blue form Brownells. the small parts come blued from CZ so if there are in good shape you dont have to blue them.

Looks good. Did you use the 000 and 0000 steel wool? That's a nice smooth satin finish.
