PCR Sight upgrade advice needed
« on: February 03, 2021, 07:59:45 PM »
I'm looking to upgrade the sights on a 75 D Compact PCR and would appreciate input and advice on what has worked for others.  I've looked at the ones at Cajun Gun Works and like them although a bit pricey ($120 for part number 310-230) Worth it? .  I'm also thinking it would be nice to have the front sight (minimum) be fiber optic. Firearm is used for self defense as opposed to competition.
Your thoughts?

I’m a big fan of the ez sights from Cajun. Blacked out rear with fiber front. I’ve put them on every single CZ I’ve owned. They are light years ahead of factory sights imho. Ymmv

CZ Customs offers some sights options for the unique PCR sight cut. They may be worth checking out.
Will work for CZ pics! (including but not limited to all CZ clones)

Not fond of fiber optic front sights on defensive pistols as the rods break too easy.  Especially if you are using it in a concealed carry mode and routinely holstering the firearm.  I prefer a tritium front and either a single dot or plane black rear.  Ageing eyes drive me to put a light on my pistols most times anyway.  Just my thoughts.

Good luck on your project.

Good point Fuzzy. Hadn’t considered that because I haven’t had fiber optics on any arms but several with tritium and they have worked well so far although they do go dim.

If you have a good holster that covers the muzzle the FO front sight is just fine and the one on MY PCR has been there for several years now. The FO breaks more from handling/cleaning than carrying. Keep in mine even without the FO rod in place the sight will still function as a normal front sight.

This^^^ I have literally thousands of draws from a competition holster and have never broken a fiber rod. Plus the sights still work without the rod.

I have the 310-221 sights for my P-01 Omega and love them.  Worth every penny.

The rear sight available from CZ Custom will prevent getting your thumb pinched. It is flush with the back of the slide. I have never broken a fibre optic rod, and I carry every day..

This is what I got for my PCR (Blank rear and FO front) and I'm loving it:
REAR: https://czcustom.com/cz-parts-all/front-and-rear-sights/cz-rear-sights-all/pcr/cz-pcr-short-tac-rear-sight.html
Also there's an extended rear sight: https://czcustom.com/cz-parts-all/front-and-rear-sights/cz-rear-sights-all/pcr/cz-pcr-tac-rear-sight.html

FRONT: (Dawson 050-390) https://cajungunworks.com/product/050-390-correct-oem-fo-front-sight/  Same one here: (.125" height and .100" wide = 050-390) https://dawsonprecision.com/dawson-precision-cz-75b-85-combat-fiber-optic-front-sights/  This 050-390 (like all Dawsons) is pre-drilled for the front sight roll pin.

For the FO front, you can also go with the CZCustom branded one but you need to drill your 2mm notch for the front sight roll pin:
https://czcustom.com/cz-parts-all/front-and-rear-sights/front-sight/fiber-optic-front-sight/cz-fiber-optic-front-sight-1-0-x-5-5mm-2-75mm-blade.html

Night sights are nice too... almost bought them but stuck with FO. I also have a light/laser for home defense.
