Is it a 9mm? I've read that .22 conversions don't work well with a 9/40 ejector.

Actually, it currently is on a 9mm 1911 frame.  I’ve also used it on a .45 frame.  No issues that I can recall.

Thanks, that's good to know.
I was looking into a CWA upper for use in Steel Challenge and thought it would be nice to pair with a 9minor open gun. CWA said it wouldn't work.

That's interesting.  :)
Does anyone know what's difference between Unit1 and Unit2? Just upper rail?

My understanding is the Unit 1 gives you the option to interchange the upper rail with either iron sights or pic rail.  Unit 2 is straight up iron sights.

Got it, I just bought a GSG 1911 in .22LR a few months back.  I had some bulk .22LR ammo from 2015 and I had only one not go off, I attribute to the ammo.

Works better that my TacSol upper on my Glock frame that is picky and only eats CCI MiniMag.

Bought the GSG for around $320 once all the shipping and transfer fees were done. I always bring it to the range now, no matter what else I’m shooting.

I just bought a slightly used Bob Marvel Unit 1 for a 1911 frame.  But not much experience with it yet.  I'll report back when I have a few more rounds through it.  I have a frame interference in the mag well right now that is unique to my frame.  After I fix that, I think it will be fine.

I thought about buying a Marvel upper for my 1911 but went with the Black Mamba instead since my teenage (14 yo) daughter will be shooting it more than I do. She loves plinking with it especially after I installed a Cmore railway.

Her target (3 inch plaster) at 10 yards shooting unsupported while standing. I taught her to shoot target-focused with both eyes open since she started shooting when she was 9 years old. Ammo was combination of CCI mini mags and Winchester Super X.

Unit 1 uses a different system for mounting than Unit 2- Unit 1 is more accurate.

I contacted Marvel and you can now order new-build Unit 1s with the 9mm / .40 cal mod:
