Three or so years ago I took several months (and spent some $) evaluating some of the available micros offered then (shield, PPS M2, G43 initially, then P365 when it came out = and recently P365XL).   I didn't look at ruger or kahr etc - just my preferences.  Long story short, I chose the P365 (and XL) as the best for me - I shoot them very well (easy to conceal, good capacity, aftermarket support, easy to work on etc).  So, for me, I decided that this time i do not need to be chasing the newest shiny object (not long ago it was hellcat, now shield plus).  That said, I know it can be tempting as I've done it a few times in the past.  But I think I'm good in this class of pistols - again, just my preferences.  Now my son, who has a shield, might be interested in the plus at some point - so keep the evals coming as that might make a nice birthday present for him in the future.

I have been primarily carrying the p10s. I rotate it with a 365/hellcat when my clothing dictated such. I have 400 rounds through my shield plus and I will no longer be carrying the 365 or hellcat. The shield plus is simply better in every way.

Stiff slide lock (maybe it's just new??)

Trigger problem

Recoil guide issue

Didn't read any of these as I don't have a Shield Plus to worry about.  I just see people replying/posting.

I just keep wasting time and money on other brands trying to find/make one shoot like my P07 and P09.  What is wrong with me?

In my experiences with shields from the 1.0 to now is they have been notorious for hard to release slide stops. S&W has stated that on the shields they are just that. Slide stops and not slide releases. They’ve said we are supposed to “sling shot” the slide.

I dont use the slide stop/release on all guns the same anyways. On all of the M&P handguns I have always used them as a slide stop only and sling shot the slide. I used to run my Glocks the same way when i owned some. As for my CZ P07 & P09 I used the slide release/stop to drop the slide as it is designed for that and works great. I do not see the M&P line slide stop as an issue. I just run those a little different.

Got one; was going to wait a year or so but with things the way they are . . . took it to range today for 50rds.  Much like original, shoots like a full size pistola.  Strange that it weighs less than original (which is noticeable to me), maybe feels cheaper?  But I'll get over that for +3-4 rds.  Anxious for xtra mags to show up, have 'notify me's' set up w/several retailers.  Trigger an amazing improvement over prior stock; but still not as good as Apex (have on my 1.0), who sent out email last week that their 2.0 package will work on the plus; now have one on the way (much prefer aluminum shoe over stock polymer, though that may not be rational).  The slide release and the safety (I'm used to and like TS's on shields) are exceedingly stiff, but as others noted they were so on original shields, they've much improved w/use on my original shield and expect the same with new one.  The reduced sandpaper texture is excellent but still a bit much for me, if/when talon makes a 'rubber' texture grip tape I may use that.  Will put on trijicon bright and toughs when I put apex kit on (take off from prior shield), excellent w/novak style rear for concealed carry; their HD line is best site picture but rear blade is pointy (ow).  Finally, TLR6, and Tulster IWB, should be all set ...
