SP-01 - CGW Pro Kit - double reset on single action?
« on: March 23, 2018, 10:45:34 PM »
Okay, I just installed the complete decocker Pro kit in my SP-01 Tactical.

First off, let me say... I am INCREDIBLY IMPRESSED with the results of this installation. The difference is insane. Much better than I expected. Most trigger jobs/kits are "a bit better" but still feel mostly the same as stock.... not the case with this one! I love the feel of the 85 trigger.

One minor quirk I've found is that there seems to be 2 resets on the single action.

Scenario:
 - pull the trigger & hold to the rear
 - rack the slide
 - begin to release the trigger
 - there is 'light' click at a VERY SHORT distance - (I can actually pull the trigger at this point and the hammer will fall)
 - If I continue releasing the trigger, there will be a more 'normal' definitive reset 'click' a little further out.

Is this double click sound normal? I haven't noticed it on any of the videos I've watched. Everything seemed to go in as expected. Any suggestions if there's something to look for would be great!

Give CGW a call to make sure, but I believe you just need to adjust the tension on your trigger bar spring. Or maybe even double check that the spring legs are riding in the grooves of the triggerbar.

uncle_malice,

What cntrydawwwg said is spot on.

This is an extremely simple and easy fix, all of 2 minutes.  Please call us first thing Monday for tech support.

Thanks guys! I did some digging and found a video where someone explained the issue on their P-01. Played with the spring a bit and reset the screw... problem solved! Ya'll are awesome!

Look at the dates. This is a 7 year old thread and the OP has not been here in 6 years. If you read the entire thread you will see how the issue was solved. You can also call CGW as they are very helpful in resolving tech issues.

Yes, I noticed the dates, but even though this thread is seven years old, that doesn't mean I can't ask a question, does it?

You mentioned, "If you read the entire thread, you will see how the issue was solved." I read the thread, but there are no specific details about how the issue was resolved.

I didn’t purchase a kit from CGW; I’m experiencing this problem with my stock gun, which is why I wanted to ask how it was fixed.

My gunsmith couldn’t find anything to tune, especially in just one or two minutes, to resolve the issue.

Of course you can ask a question. By all means. Of course providing all the relevant info regarding your issue is always helpful otherwise it's guess work. By the way the answer to the issue in this thread is in post 2. Adjustment of the trigger bar spring. Also it is verified in post 3 by schmeky aka the guy who owns CGW.

What the member is politely trying to say is that Uncle Malice hasn't been back to this forum since February of 2019. (You can find that out by clicking on his name in the far left margin.) Which means you will not be getting any answers from him/her.

But Uncle Malice did say he found a video that helped.... which probably means a YouTube video, which you might, with some detailed searching, find yourself. Unfortunately he was very impolite and did not leave a link to said video.

If/When you find that video, please come back and leave the missing link.
