Brand new CSA vz58 finish flaking off?

Just purchased a CSA vz58 and the finish is flaking off of it. Anyone know what kind of finish CSA uses and why it would be flaking? https://imgur.com/Vm0qI2z

No idea.  Paint looks think like poor prep.  Traditionally for the receiver, it's paint over park, but the formula changed when they went from the heavy gloss (like OE military spec) to newer matte finish that's rumored to be less durable -- your experience seems to confirm.

Regardless, should be a warranty issue.  Reach out to Czechpoint on that front and let us know what they say.

Yeah they said they'd repaint it under warranty. I hope they do it right. Like actually strip everything apart and repaint it. Because I believe it's czechpoint handling the work and not CSA themselves. I guess CSA didn't do it right in the first place though.... Kind of a pain either way. Shipping it out and waiting for it and going to the shipper to pick it up. The only solace is guns already transferred to you don't have to go to the FFL.
