I escaped the monsoon season of the Texas Hill Country for a week in the mountains of New Mexico over the 4th of July week.
Since I rarely shoot at 25 yards any more and don't use the P-10s in bullseye matches anyway, I decided to do away with the aim point 8" above the record target and just go a few clicks up and fine tune from there. Today I got to try the P-10F with the Holosun 507C red dot. It took a few rounds before I settled down enough to see where I was, then I was able to shoot the five shot group in this video:
https://youtu.be/FnbK_wbHeLM This is with IMI 115 gr JHP box ammo at 6000 feet above sea level in calm conditions at around 60F ambient temperature. I will have to make an adjustment when I go back home at 800 feet altitude. But the ammo works very well in the CZ's and I have plenty of it right now.
My fancy broom bristle wrist rest is too flimsy, I think. I need a little more stability for the mag base rest. This really seemed to be significant when shooting the P-10S as I simply could not group well today, and it wasn't all just because I've been away from the pistol for a few weeks.
Another point. The clicks on the Holosun 507C sight are not 1 moa/click, they are closer to 2 moa/click. I've noticed this before at 50 yards and confirmed it today at 100. Not a problem, just need to know to avoid wasting any ammo. The 507K may not be the same, will check when I can shoot the gun well enough again to know where I am when make a change.
