Optic suggestion for a CZ P10-F OR?
« on: August 26, 2021, 11:12:43 PM »
I have a reasonably new CZ P10-F Optic Ready pistol that I really enjoy shooting at the range (also use for home defense) and I would like to order a Red Dot optic for it.  I’ve read some good things about the usual candidates: Trijicon RMR/SRO, Holosun 407c/507c, but also some good things about the Swampfox Justice (1x27, 3MOA).  Any experiences/insights appreciated.  Thanks.

I own a leupold dpp for my shadow 2 OR and it has served me well.  I'm very interested in an SRO but can't justify the purchase.  I've also heard good things about holosun.

I don't think there is a clear cut answer.  There are trade offs.  The dpp is popular for competition shooters, but might be too bulky for a carry gun.  Trijicon has a great reputation but is also the least budget friendly.

Also be aware that you'll need to buy the appropriate mounting plate for whichever optic you choose.

My P10F set up for USPSA Carry Optics has an 8 moa C-more RTS2 v5.  Big glass and a bright, crisp dot.
Only downside is that it does go through batteries pretty quickly if I turn it up high and leave it on all day  to shoot in bright daylight.

I've tried other sights with smaller dots and have say that the minimum dot size for me is 6 moa.  I find smaller dots are harder to see when you are shooting in daylight.

I have one non-OR cut by Jagerwerks for a vortex Venom, it’s great and I loved how thin the bezel is. Then I tried a Holosun 407CO (8moa circle). That’s what my current 2 OR’s have on them. It’s what I shoot for matches and back up gun. The thicker bezel of the 407/507 holosuns is not a factor; the bezel disappears while shooting. For the record, I’ve not had any reliability issues with either brand. I’m not easy on my equipment. If I had to do all over again, I’d just go with cutting the slides for the holosuns as they would sir just a bit lower than the OR’s.  Originally thought I’d try the holosun and switch to trij if I found the holo’s lacking but I have not!

I have Trijicon, Holosun, Swamp Fox, Nikon, Leupold, Vortex & Burris.
For the money best values are Holosun & Swamp Fox, you just missed a 40% off sale, I bought my 4th one. I have Kingslayer, Sentinel & Justice.

Since the P10-F is mostly a range gun, I’m tempted to try out the Swampfox Justice RDS, as the reviews are decent and the price is excellent.  Thanks for all the inputs and keep them coming.
