Adjustable Trigger set-up for de-cock model

I have the two set screw adjustable trigger in my SP-01 Tactical de-cocker model.  I was reading how to adjust it.  Wouldn't it make sense to adjust the forward travel screw off of the de-cocker trigger re-set?  If you chamber a round, wouldn't you use the de-cocker and carry the gun in this mode?  Or are you suppose to chamber a round and lower the hammer manually all the way down (this would make the trigger dead, as it wouldn't re-set if adjusting off the de-cock mode).  You would also loose second strike capability, but this would also give you a much shorter re-set without a lot of take-up if firing from de-cock. 

What is the recommended way to set this up with a de-cock model?  I'm I missing something in my assessment?

    Typically the Trigger pre travel set screw is set at the full Double Action reset point with a little bit of play to ensure a consistent reset. CZ 75 variant decockers are most commonly carried decocked though some owners choose to go hammer all the way down.

   This is the first time that i have heard the idea of limiting the Trigger travel to the decocked position. I do not believe that you are missing anything in your description of how the pistol functions.

I am interested to hear the input of other forum members on the subject.

Don't know if there's a difference in the SP01 tactical or not but I set my decockers both PCR's and a 75BD with the hammer fully down. The trigger is in exactly the same fully forward position whether the hammer is all the way down or at half cock. I think you understand the operation already so you know as you stated the following.
Attempting to remove the slack you feel in the trigger when the hammer is at half cock will not allow the trigger to fully reset when the hammer is all the way down and will render the trigger dead at that point. So if you get have a misfire or simply wanted to start from the hammer down position the gun won't function. That's how my 3 standard 75 decockers operate.
The pre-travel is set the same way for safety models as well.

Hitting my de-cocker puts the hammer at half cock.  I'm not sure if that's normal?  This is my only de-cocker model I own.  And I bought it used with the trigger installed.  My first outing with it to shoot was with the trigger return set screw set to the de-cock travel & all worked fine.  Except for the second strike capability, which isn't usually an option on most guns.  I did have to switch the set screws around, using the 4 mm for the top of the trigger.

On the CZ action it is normal operation for the decocker to drop the hammer to half cock. I would put the set screws back where they belong and set the trigger for proper full reset. Most striker fired guns and single actions do not allow for second strike capabilities but that is an advantage to the DA/SA action of the CZ and other similar pistols such as Sig, Beretta and so on.
