Extended firing pin necessary?

Looking at som CGW upgrades. If I replace the hammer spring an use the reduced power firing pin spring, is the extended firing pin necessary?

Depends on how lite of a hammer spring you go with.

13 lb: no.
11.5 lb: maybe depending on which primers you use.
8 lb: most likely yes.

If it's for home defense or carry, it's definitely worth the extra $25.  If it's a range or fun gun, then you can experiment without it and see for yourself.
