Heads up on Shadow 2 Kadet parts
« on: May 30, 2018, 04:25:26 PM »
I think I just learned this the hard way but it appears that the various "Kadet" parts on the CZ webstore like recoil/firing pin springs, spring guide, and possibly front sights do not fit the new Shadow 2 Kadet kits.   I probably should have thought about it since the Shadow 2 Kadet kit is very new and looks like a different design than the older style.

The recoil, firing pin, and recoil guide rod that showed up today are all way too small than what is in my Shadow 2 Kadet

I didn't order one but it also looks like the front sight is very different.  In that the Shadow 2 Kadet has a short front sight "post" with the mounting screw in front of the post screwing down into the slide, where the other "kadet" front sights I see appear to be pinned from underneath through the slide.

It wasn't much for the parts so I'm not too worried about that, but I put out an email to CZ just to verify and see if I can order the same parts for the Shadow 2 kits, a search on "Kadet" on the CZ webstore only reveals the parts I ordered.

Yes Todd. When I go to the CZ site, the Kadet parts listed are all for the 75 Kadet or Kadet 2 kit. I havent found any spares for the new SP-01 or S2 Kit.

They do list magazine for the SP-01 or S2, but they are both out of stock. Oddly enough, there are different part numbers for the SP and S2 mags. I wonder if it is simply the embossed name on the mag?
The both kits seem very similar, and the Factory mags are embossed with Shadow 2 and SP-01. I wonder if the replacement is more specific?

Good luck

Rich

Is the firing pin spring the same? Just got my Shadow Kadet upper this week and Im getting light strikes with my 13# main spring. Im wondering if cutting the firing pin spring a tad might help with the light strikes or if I just have to go back to the factory main spring. Either way I would like to have a spare firing pin spring on hand anyway.

for .22LR, you will need more than a 13# main spring. Try 18#.
